Keiko Shibata is a picture book author and illustrator, working here in oil pastel for one of Hobonichi's Graph Notebook covers. The scene: a house full of cats who've all noticed a visitor at the door at once, peering out from the room, the hallway, even the window.

The back cover carries a matching red door and Shibata's own signature. Underneath the artwork is the same notebook as always — thin Tomoe River paper on a 3.7mm grid, 240 pages, thread-bound to lay flat, sized for an A6 HON cover.
