Penco Prime Timber 2.0mm Pencil

Penco is Hightide's stationery line, and for the Prime Timber they teamed up with Kitaboshi — one of Japan's oldest pencil makers — to build a mechanical pencil that writes and feels like a real wood pencil, without ever needing to be sharpened down to a stub.

The hexagonal barrel is turned from American incense-cedar, weighted so the outside is heavier than the core for a steadier hand. It holds a thick 2mm lead — much less likely to snap than the fine leads in most mechanical pencils — and comes with a built-in sharpener plus one refill lead to start. Extra 2mm HB refills are available as one of the options above.
