SONIC Togari Turn — Manual Pencil Sharpener (Transparent)

The Togari Turn from SONIC is a manual pencil sharpener built around one specific problem: over-sharpening. Turn the crank until the point is ready, and the pencil releases on its own — a mechanism SONIC developed to stop the blade from working past the ideal tip. The transparent body makes the process visible from the outside, so you can watch the sharpening happen and feel the point develop rather than pulling the pencil out to check.

The stainless steel blade produces a consistent, clean point, and the dust compartment latches shut so shavings stay contained even if the sharpener tips over. Winner of the 26th Japan Stationery Award (2017) and iF Design Award (2018).
