During the month of April, we were thrilled to put on our first ever store artist exhibition, featuring the work of local artist, Joy Kim. Since the beginning of our store concept, our team had always wanted to use the storefront as a platform to highlight artists that we connected with. Megan met Joy at the Vancouver Art Book Fair the previous year and we have been fans of Joy’s work since.
Joy’s work captures the beauty of everyday objects, people, and childhood memories. Like Joy, something we often try to convey at SORT is how often everyday objects go unnoticed—their beauty is determined by the way they seamlessly fit and shape our daily activities.
Thank you to all who came out for the opening night and throughout the month.
