Hasami Porcelain Coaster/Plate - HPB001 (Black)

Hasami Porcelain has been in our studio for years now, since one of our team members brought a set in and it never left. It gets used constantly, for coffee, for snacks, for whatever's nearby.

This small dish is part of Hasami Porcelain's original collection, designed by Takuhiro Shinomoto in Nagasaki, Japan, and a winner of Japan's 2015 Good Design Award. It's made from the same stone and clay blend as the rest of the line. In Black, the same clay is finished with a matte black glaze, so the texture reads as a light grain under a smooth surface. Use it as a coaster under the matching mug, a lid to keep a drink warm, or a small holder for a teabag or two.
