CAYA Kaya Cloth Dishcloth by Ban Inoue — 58 x 58cm
Kaya is the airy cotton mesh once used for mosquito nets in Nara, and Ban Inoue makes these cloths using that same traditional weave. This large two-layer cloth is thin and light, soaks up water quickly, and dries fast — just right for drying big plates, bowls, and glassware.
It arrives a little stiff (there's a light starch from weaving), so give it a rinse before first use. After a few washes it shrinks slightly and turns soft and fluffy, and it only gets better from there. The colours are inspired by Japanese seasons and nature. Made in Japan.
