Soil was established as a collaboration between h concept, a renowned design company in Tokyo, Japan, and Isurugi, a plasterwork company; soil co., ltd. in Ishikawa, Japan that cultivated its artisan skills with a history of almost 100 years. The concept is to capture the essence of nature in each of the products. Made of diatomaceous earth, the craftsmen use Isurugi’s plastering techniques to sculpt pieces that preserve the earth’s sedimentary qualities of absorption and moisture retention.
