Tou Incense Pot by Kyoto Artisan Pull Push Studio

Pull Push Products is a small Japanese design label working in cast mortar, glass, and steel. Motif, their ongoing collection, reimagines everyday things as miniature buildings — chimneys, towers, rooftops, recast as objects you can hold. Designed by Sato Nobuhiro and made in Japan, each piece keeps the texture of its own process, imperfections included.

The TOU Incense Pot is a mortar incense burner shaped like a small brick chimney. Instead of smoke from a fire, what rises from the flue is the scent of incense. Details carry the idea further: a path leads to a doorway at the base, and a small embedded glass window catches the light. The chimney lifts off so you can set a cone of incense inside, then fit it back into place. The base is weighted, so it sits steady. Mortar is a raw material — expect a light dusting of fine powder, and the occasional small chip or air bubble. We think that's part of the piece, not a flaw.
