HASAMI Maruhiro Block - Soup Bowl

Reminiscent of American restaurant tableware from the 60's, the HASAMI Block Mugs are made with the intention to be used on a daily basis. These mugs originate from a small area in Japan called Hasami, in Nagasaki Prefecture — an area known for their quality ceramics.

 

This mug can be stacked together with Block Bowl – Mini, and is a joy to hold–the handle’s interior is curved with an angled bottom that provides stability. The smooth body interior has no corners, making it easy to clean.

 

*"Yellow" and "Mustard" are different colours, please choose carefully. "Yellow" is more of a mint green.

The HASAMI Maruhiro brand crafts Hasami ceramics from the town of the same name in Nagasaki Prefecture. Until recently Hasami ceramics was relatively unknown, long grouped under the umbrella of the more well known Imari porcelain of the Arita area of Saga Prefecture. Hasami ceramics production is characterized by a specialized division of labour where shaping, molding, glazing, and firing are handled independently.
